Nicole is an accredited Advanced Running Coach based in Brisbane, Queensland. Outside of coaching, she is a dedicated mum and a lawyer – roles that have deeply shaped her understanding of training, resilience, and balance.
In Nicole’s words; I ran my first 10km race in 2015 and since then have competed across marathons, track ultras, road ultras, and numerous Backyard Ultra events both in Australia and internationally. My racing highlights include wins at Butter24 12hr Track Ultra (2019), Butter24 6hr Track Ultra (2020), Glasshouse Hares & Hounds 50km (2022), and Western Branch Marathon (2022). In 2022, I became the first Australian woman to win a Backyard Ultra, taking victory at States of Origin Last One Standing.
My personal passion lies with Backyard Ultras and track ultras, particularly the mental, strategic, and physiological intricacies required to execute these events well. That passion carries directly into my coaching, where I enjoy helping athletes understand not just how to train, but why certain approaches matter, especially in ultra-endurance formats.
I coach runners of all levels and across all distances, with a particular interest in beginner runners and those returning to running. I love supporting athletes as they discover they are capable of far more than they ever imagined, both physically and mentally. My focus is on building efficient running, long-term durability, and the confidence that comes from understanding your own body and training.
As a coach, I start from the reality of an athlete’s life. Competing obligations such as work, parenting, health, stress, and fatigue are treated as material training variables, not personal shortcomings. As a working, single mother, I have a lived understanding of the physiological and practical challenges faced by working mums, sole parents, new mums, perimenopausal women, and injured runners.
As a neurodivergent runner and mother, I have lived experience which allows me to support neurodivergent runners with genuine understanding, including how different nervous systems, medications, and sensory factors can influence training, recovery, and race execution. Sessions can be adapted to work with the brain, not against it.
Having spent years navigating my own training blocks and start lines, I understand what it takes to prepare for race day in a manageable and realistic manner. I coach with compassion, clarity, and commitment, working towards your goals as if they were my own.
